Ramona G. Scott, DNP, WHNP-BC is a nurse practitioner in Women’s Care Group, Knoxville, Tennessee. She has been in this collaborative practice which consists of eight physicians and two nurse practitioners for the past 28 years. She also serves as adjunct faculty for The University of Tennessee College of Nursing, Knoxville as well as South College, Knoxville. Dr. Scott has served as a preceptor for many nurse practitioner programs in the region, including Frontier Nursing University, Regents Online Degree Program, and Vanderbilt University.

Beginning her nursing career after graduating from Tennessee Technological University in 1982, Dr. Scott worked in oncology, intensive care, labor and delivery, and post-partum care. She received her master’s degree in nursing with a focus in women’s health from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1987.  After her twins, Andrew and Rebekah went to college, she returned to school, completing her doctorate of nursing practice through Frontier Nursing University in 2013.  Her husband, Robin gave his unfailing support during this process for which Ramona was very grateful.

Dr. Scott has a particular interest in contraception and menopause management within her practice. She serves on the board of the Knox Adolescent Partners in Prevention Initiative and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is a charter member of the Iota Beta chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International and presented a poster at the regional conference in 2014.  Her capstone explored the education of medical assistants using a web-based module and she plans future educational offerings for ancillary outpatient staff.
